It’s official! Sunderland AFC official website has released an official statement on Jordan Henderson.

David N’Gog has been speculated to be included in a cash plus player deal for Henderson. According to the press, Liverpool FC will be paying Sunderland £13million plus David N’Gog, who worth £7million in the deal plus some add-on.

The news comes after days of frenzied speculation, with the Reds seemingly determined to get their hands on Henderson before he heads off with the England Under-21s squad for the European Championships in Denmark tomorrow.

Henderson's potential acquisition fits in with Liverpool's policy under Dalglish, director of football Damien Comolli and owners Fenway Sports Group to pursue young, and preferably English, talent.

Henderson is also set to become Kenny Dalglish's first signing since being named permanent manager at the club.
