Sami Hyypia, deservedly a Liverpool Football Club’s legend for his professionalism and loyalty to the club, on and off the pitch. Since his arrival from Willem II on one summer 1999, people are saying, “Sami who?” But the towering Finnish centre back were one of the best signing ever made by Gerard Houllier’s French Revolution period.
Why was Sami Hyypia described as a “legend”? He played 463 times for the Reds, scored 35 goals, won 10 pieces of silverware with Liverpool FC and was the pivotal part of the Reds’ defence spanning the last 10 years.
Enough has been said about him. Thank you to Sami Hyypia, for the memories and the greatest moments in Liverpool Football Club. Wishing you all the best with Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool’s loss is Leverkusen’s gain.
