Reds swoop for Dossena

Andrea DossenaLiverpool are on the brink of completing the £7million signing of full-back Andrea Dossena.

The 26-year-old is believed to be on Merseyside having a medical ahead of a proposed move from Udinese.

The deal has been confirmed by the player's agent, Federico Pastorello, who has been quoted in the Italian media as saying: "Everything is confirmed and we have already exchanged documents via fax. The deal is practically done."

Dossena is getting married at the weekend, but both club and player want the medical concluded and the final details of the deal settled before then.
