See you in court

Gabriel HeinzeLiverpool is taking Manchester United to court if the Red Devils continued to block Gabriel Heinze's move to Anfield. Rafa has matched United asking price of £6.8million for the 29 year old Argentine's defender but Sir Alex Ferguson reluctant to do business. Clearly, Rafa wants to make Heinze the first player to move from Old Trafford to Anfield since Phil Chisnall in 1964.

"A lot of clubs, in many different countries, knew what the situation was,"

"I do not know what the problem is. We made an offer, they rejected it. I know what they are saying to the press but everyone in the world knows they (United) signed a document."
- Rafa Benitez

The last thing we want to see is an ex-Manchester United player moving to Liverpool but if Rafa sees Heinze as the suitable cover for our left defence, we'll happy to accept him with open arms.

Liverpool target Giorgio Chiellini

Giorgio ChielliniGiorgio Chiellini, Juventus defender was rumoured to be the next Liverpool's transfer target. He'll be Rafa's back-up option if a move for Gabriel Heinze falls through. Juventus is holding out a £7million transfer fee for Chiellini, while Liverpool reported to have made a £5million offer for this Italian Under-21 captain.

"I am sure if something official came from Liverpool, it would be a tempting solution."

We'll sign the next 'Ronaldo'

Ricardo Quaresma Which Ronaldo? Definitely not the Brazilian and absolutely not United's Cristiano... it's Ricardo Andrade Quaresma Bernardo, a very talented young football player from FC Porto. He can play on both flanks, fast, great skills and the right player to add into our squad. Liverpool has offered £13.5million for this exciting young Portuguese winger.

Stay tune for more update on this player.

El Nino arrived!

Finally, our pain stricken wait for new recruit has been arrived! Fernando Torres has cut short his holidays to sign for Liverpool Football Club. El Nino or The Kid which the Atletico fans and Spanish media has called him 'cause of his youthful appearance, become Liverpool record signing at £26.5million. He was reportedly signed a six-year deal worth £90,000 a week and will join with the rest of the squad on 11th July.

In May 2007, Fernando revealed the words "You'll Never Walk Alone" written behind his captain's armband during a game against Real Sociedad. Two months later he signed for Liverpool, leaving the Vicente Calderon with a record of 82 goals in 214 league appearances. He will be wearing the No.9 shirt vacated by Robbie Fowler. The number nine once owned by Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush, both are prolific goalscorers for Liverpool in their prime. Will El Nino able to replicate the feat?

At 6' 1, Torres is a big and strong forward and will be Rafael Benitez's eight Spanish player brought in since taking over the manager roll in 2004. He will be a big hit in the premiership, although it's too early to judge him. But I personally feels that El Nino is the missing link between our midfield and forward.

"Fernando Torres is a forward's forward, and he gives a team depth. He's fast, direct and dangerous in the box. He's still very young but he's doing really well. He accepts responsibility and he has a great future."
- Frank Rikjaard, Barcelona coach

"Fernando is much more than just a counter attacking player. He is a very clever player, especially outside the penalty box, and I can see him forming very effective partnerships, especially with Dirk Kuyt."
- Spanish football expert Guillem Balague

Can't wait to see what he can offer to our frontline.

New polls

There are two new polls here. What's new about dPolls's poll is that you can have multiple choices of votes instead of the conventional single vote. So, cast your votes based on your most desired criteria now! You might not want to vote for Darren Bent (in Who's coming in?) anymore cos he already join Spurs and Diego Forlan too as he was set to sign for Atletico Madrid after the Copa America.

Henry at Barcelona

This was just to rub some salt to the wounds of fellow Gunners. Thierry Henry has already signed a four-year deal with the Catalan giant on Monday. But the funny part is the YouTube video posted by beverbrigade, during the match between Villarreal and Arsenal shown that a Spanish fan ran into the pitch and handed Henry a Barcelona jersey! How come you didn't see it coming?

Liverpool swoop Mihaylov

Nikolay MihaylovWho the hell is Mihaylov? Nikolay Mihaylov is Bulgaria under-21 goalkeeper from Bulgarian Champions Levski Sofia. He will go straight to the Academy together with German striker Marvin Pourie and Swedish winger Alex Kacaniklic. Mihaylov, turning 19 last Thursday has made his senior debut against Scotland in Kirin Cup held in Japan on May 2006. While Pourie and Kacaniklic both are joining the under-18 squad for the 2007/08 season.

More and more youngsters are coming in but still no sign of our most anticipated new signing for the current senior squad has been made. Fernando Torres's deal is almost done but yet to confirm as the press reported. Is he coming or not?
